Dear Beloved One,
A few Sundays ago, I was able to hear a sermon on courage. It was called Courage for the Journey . I thought it would be great to share a few points from the sermon with you for life .
- Courage is fear that has said its prayers: This is true. Jesus said that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and might ( 2 Timothy 1:7). So in times when it feels like fear is taking over , say your prayers
- Courage recognizes that fear is always there : It makes no sense to act like its not there. It’s the elephant in the room! Now that you’ve recognized it you can put your plan of action to master it , which is God’s Holy Word and prayer .
- Courage is the mastery of fear – Practice makes perfect. My music teacher would always tell me this when I would take a test and crash and burn. Her statement was so true. Practice of overcoming fear with courage means you have to practice facing the fearful things of life with God. Its the only way you will be able to stand before obtacles that seem 15 times larger than you .
- Fear will keep you out of danger but courage will support you in it. Since God has not given us a spirit of fear , we should not succumb to the devil’s( Satan , Lucifer) fear tatics to keep us from accomplishing our mission here on earth. Fear keeps you held up at a certain place in your life. I’m learning if you’ve never have the courage to face challenges then you’ll end up missing life. Some of the greatest historical events in life were spawned by people who had the courage to face danger.
I hope that this helps you as it has helped me!
Love,
L
