Dear Beloved One,
Recently I stumbled upon a podcast of a popular pastor from the east coast. I was enamored with each lesson that he taught. It spoke to me in every aspect of my life. I was hooked. I was so hooked that I had to find out more about the church and his background. What I found was a little shocking . It was so shocking that I had to stop the sermon I was listening to . I sat there for a moment and let what I just read set in. In my mind I felt a little form of judgement was coming. Then I realized something . Pastors and our spiritual leaders are people also. Believe it or not they make mistakes too .The position that they hold is not to be taken lightly.Satan is forever targeting them with darts hotter than fish grease! And because of this fact, we as members of the body of Christ should use our power and pray for them. It does not excuse them from their actions .Believe me ,God will deal with that. It keeps a hedge of protection around them , so when tested they can make the right decision.
We sometimes underestimate our role in the church. Most believe that the pastor is the only righteous person in the whole building and we are just there to learn. But Jude 1:20-21 instructs us to “build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ”. This command was not given to just Pastors and the spiritual leaders but it was given to the congregation. When you ask spiritual leaders what you can do for them , their common response is” Pray for me “. As members of the body of Christ , we should take them up on their request. In our your prayers remember to pray not only for your family and yourself but also for your spiritual leaders.
Love,
L
